Snowy Oaks

DuPont, Washington, is home to several hundred Garry oak trees, the only oak native to Washington. Photographer Kate Lynch captured this scene in 2005 shortly before Pioneer Middle School and Powderworks Park were completed. The city was dedicated to preserving as many of these scarce trees as possible.
